The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date, Montblanc’s very first dive watch, features a dial adorned with a glacier motif that evokes the feeling of seeing into the depths. The pattern on this black dial is inspired by the Mer de Glace, the main glacier of the Mont Blanc massif. Its texture is the result of a nearly forgotten ancestral technique called “gratté-boisé” (a type of wood-grain etching). The watch features a unidirectional, two-tone ceramic bezel and an engraved case back. It is fitted with an interchangeable, beveled rubber strap with meticulous adjustment for a precise fit. This watch complies with ISO 6425 standards for dive watches and is water-resistant to 300 meters.
